Exploring the Future: 8th Grade Career Research at St. Rose School

Discovering Passions, Exploring Possibilities, and Preparing for the Future

At St. Rose School, our students are encouraged to dream big, explore their passions, and begin thinking about the paths that lie ahead. Recently, Mrs. Murphy’s 8th grade class took an exciting step toward their futures through their Career Research Projects.

Each student began by taking career assessment quizzes and reflecting on their individual interests and strengths. From there, they dove into in-depth research to better understand potential career paths. Their work went far beyond simply choosing a job title, students explored salary ranges, job demand around the world, cost of living, educational requirements, and necessary certifications.

The project culminated in student presentations, where classmates had the opportunity to learn from one another and discover a wide range of career possibilities. The variety was impressive, future aspirations included everything from Zoo Keeper to Electrical Engineer to Pediatric Surgeon.

This project not only strengthened research and presentation skills but also gave students a meaningful glimpse into their future. It was inspiring to see their curiosity, dedication, and excitement as they shared their findings.

The Class of 2026 is full of potential, purpose, and promise, and we can’t wait to see where their journeys take them next!
