Art & Music from the Heart Show

A feast for the ears and eyes

A variety of art pieces created by students in Preschool - 8th grade, including pottery made by Middle school students, were showcased throughout the school for visitors to enjoy. Proceeds from entry donations and student made bracelet sales will benefit a food program for a Mission school in the Philippines run by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Pottery sales will raise scholarships for local students (who would otherwise not have this opportunity) to attend Brett Nichols You Gotta Believe summer Basketball Camp. St. Rose School is blessed to have a talented, insightful Art teacher who opens the world of artists, art genres and inner creativity to all students. The Band program invites students into the beautiful world of music as they learn to play various instruments.  The beautiful sounds of instruments, from violins to drums to flutes and trombones, floated through the air as students performed an array of pieces they have learned and mastered through the Band program. St. Rose School has a strong commitment to the Arts.

A group of animated, focused Kindergarten students stood by their boards with pointers and explained the interesting, relevant experiments they had conducted to the many visitors (including students in all grades, teachers and parents) who stopped in throughout the day. It was evident by their subject matter and presentation that these young students have learned the foundations of STEM and are building a strong foundation of knowledge and skills for future discoveries.

Crowning of Mary -- In this beautiful month of May, we give extra attention to our beautiful Blessed Mother. Grades 3-8 recently gathered in the church to recite the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary (led by upper grade students), to reflect on the faith, motherhood and graces of Mary, and to place a crown of flowers upon her head (done by two Kindergarten and two 8th grade students). The reverence, respect and integrity displayed by all students is a hallmark of St. Rose School.

We did it...and then some! St. Rose Schools students raised close to $47,000 for the recent Walk-a-thon! Their amazing spirit lifted our hearts and filled our halls during the weeks of March and April. Coupled with $13,500 from community sponsors, we reached $60,000 which is double our goal and a much needed injection to our Blooms Fund which helps to balance the budget, bridge the tuition gap and keep our school vital.

As the field is prepared and the laps are anticipated, students will be seeking donations in support of their efforts. Sponsorships (e.g., Finish line, Start line, Water table, Super Fan) are also being sought to help us reach our $30,000 goal. Monies raised go to the Blooms Fund to help defray the many costs (salaries, operations, curriculum, enrichment programs, security updates) that are not covered by tuition alone. Every gift makes a big difference in the lives of students in Preschool - 8th grade. Thank you for helping them BLOOM!

where they are immersed in all aspects of real-life finance including managing budgets, understanding real estate and investing. Recently they competed in a Monopoly tournament to see who could build the biggest portfolio. The Club will soon begin the national Stock Market game which is a competitive, exceptional learning experience. Exceptional enrichment programs add a dynamic dimension to the stellar academic curriculum making this a well-rounded, impactful education for students in Preschool-8th grade.
