Stories from St. Rose
St. Rose of Lima School Earns an A+ Overall Niche Grade for 2027!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our St. Rose community! St. Rose of Lima School has earned an A+ Overall Niche Grade for 2027, returning to Niche’s highest grade band after receiving an A in 2026. According to Niche, an A+ represents approximately the top 2.5% of graded schools.
Even more exciting is the continued growth of our academic program. St. Rose earned an A in Academics, with our academic score rising from 3.66 to 4 and moving from the 44th to the 69th percentile. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teachers and staff, the hard work of our students, and our commitment to providing an educational experience rooted in both academic excellence and faith.
#1 in the Nation for Parent & Student Experience
Perhaps one of the accomplishments we are most proud of is the feedback from the people who know St. Rose best, our families and students. St. Rose ranked #1 nationally and #1 in Connecticut for parent and student surveys of overall experience.
Niche considers areas such as community, safety, belonging, academics, teachers, culture, and overall experience when evaluating schools. For us, this recognition speaks to something that has always been at the heart of St. Rose: our community.
An A+ rating is certainly something to celebrate, but what makes us most proud is what that rating represents: the teachers who know and care for their students, children who are encouraged to grow academically and spiritually, families who are active partners in our school, and a community where students are known, loved, challenged, and supported.
We are incredibly grateful to our students, teachers, staff, families, parish, alumni, and the entire St. Rose community for continuing to make our school such a special place.
A+ Overall. A in Academics. #1 nationally for parent and student experience. One incredible St. Rose community.

Our Class is a Family

Third grade is starting the school year with a wonderful reminder that a classroom is about so much more than learning—it’s also about creating a place where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and valued.
After reading Our Class Is a Family by Shannon Olsen, our third graders embraced their theme for the year: “Our Classroom Family.”
To help bring the message to life, each student received a special bracelet featuring colors that represent the qualities they hope to carry with them throughout the year: kindness, respect, support, caring, and celebrating one another.
Just like a family, a classroom is a place where we encourage each other, celebrate successes, lend a hand when someone needs it, and make sure everyone knows they belong.
What a beautiful way for our third graders to begin the year and build a classroom family rooted in kindness and community! ❤️
