INTERNATIONAL WEEK The students, faculty and families of St. Rose school took a trip around the world this week. Monday we opened with a moving International Flag Ceremony and Peace prayer and the week unfolded with a variety of projects, speakers, crafts and lessons that brought different cultures to life. Passport day was especially fun as buddies explored country displays together and got their passports stamped. On Wednesday evening we celebrated our International Dinner. Fun was had by all! So many tasty dishes were home made by our families. We thank you all for these delicious contributions. We achieved a school wide dress down day for guessing at least 50 world capitals! (date to be determined) We thank everyone who helped us that evening, especially the Moncktons and Mrs. Gutierrez. 7th graders Marco, Daniel and Tommy for supervising our World Capitals game, 2nd graders Gabriela, Juliana and Hannah for greeting our families in the lobby in festive dresses. Isabel Almeida for organizing the wonderful Folklore Dance Group from the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Danbury. And special thanks to Alumni parent Dawn for her colorful decorations that really set the tone! - International Dinner Team: JoAnne, Ana, and Christine The week culminated with an International Mass on Friday emphasizing peace and love among all God's creation. |
