Payment Procedures:
Dear Parents,
An important
change in our student billing procedure has occurred for the
2006-07 school year.
The Diocese of
Bridgeport has instructed us to continue to run a self-administered,
in-house installment tuition plan. As a Diocesan, independent school,
we are constantly looking for ways to hold expenses down and to
concentrate our available human and financial resources on our primary
mission of education. The majority of our peer schools have determined
that changes in student billing procedures can help in meeting these
goals, specifically through co-sourcing the billing function and by the
use of automatic bank draft. Experience has shown that the changes can
provide significant benefits to school families as well as to the school
itself. Convenience, flexibility and secure, on-line access to
individual account information are three of the most often mentioned.
After considerable study, we have concluded that it is time for St. Rose
to join this trend.
To handle the
mechanics of the installment plan, we have contracted with the FACTS
Management Company. FACTS was chosen after 2 years of research into
various tuition management firms. Given their extensive experience in
the independent school field and their proven reputation for excellent
customer service, FACTS was the clear choice to serve our school
community as they already serve over 2,000 other schools throughout the
country.
Payment
options for the upcoming year will include annual, quarterly, and
monthly (10 or 11 months beginning July and ending no later than May) .
Families paying in full will send their payment directly to our Business
Office (please see Handbook). Those who wish to make payments other
than annual, will have the choice of either an ACH (Automatic
withdrawal from your checking or savings account which is administered
by your bank, not FACTS), credit card (a 2.5% transaction fee will be
incurred by the payee) or by invoice. There are no interest charges for
installment payments but late fees will be applied. Monthly payments
may be made on the 5th or the 20th of each month. Tuition
assistance is available through FACTS and an application will be sent
home to those interested.
Ultimately,
our goal and responsibility is to exercise the best possible stewardship
of our resources. We appreciate your cooperation during this upcoming
time of transition and we hope that you will feel free to contact the
school if you should have any questions regarding this change.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mary R.
Maloney, Principal
