An Extraordinary amount of lifelong
learning takes place
outside the classroom.

It is our
objective to develop the whole child through reinforcing strong academic
skills, a positive self-image, a sense of civic responsibility and respect
for others. The extracurricular activities combined with our core
curriculum and service projects, provide our students a well balanced
program designed to provide for intellectual, aesthetic and physical
development.

Extracurricular Athletics
At St. Rose
School, the interscholastic athletic program provides a foundation of spirit, enthusiasm and industriousness. Each year students
in grades 4 through 8 field teams in the Diocesan Basketball Leauge. In addition, we encourage and facilitate
our student’s participation in town sports teams. Many of our students
compete in soccer, swimming, basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse and
hockey.

Community
Service
Developing in
students a sense of responsibility to their community as well as school is
crucial. To cultivate this awareness of community and the world, we
minister to others through seasonal and on-going service projects
including:
§
Annual
“Adopt-a-Family” Christmas project
·
Toys for Tots Program
·
Sponsorship
of The Children’s Dining Room
·
Holy
Childhood Association - global relief project
·
Annual Lenten
Bread & Soup Project with Stations of the Cross
·
Faith Food
Pantry - Easter basket project for local needy children
·
American
Cancer Society and other research/support groups
Spiritual
Life
The best way
that anyone can teach another is by his or her own example. If the lives
of those who are in a position to influence young people reflect the
presence of God, and His work in and through them, the impact can be
powerful. We encourage spiritual growth through:
·
Daily prayer
and Weekly Mass
·
Special
liturgical celebrations and prayer services
·
Celebrations
of saints
·
Preparing for
and receiving the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and
Confirmation
