activity that helps to put you in the
Christmas spirit early
in the season.

complements our academic program. It offers opportunities for students
in Pre-K through 8 via
enrichment and other programs. Volunteers are needed.

Family packets are
distributed weekly to each St. Rose family. Items include the
Principals weekly bulletin and announcements/sign-up
sheets for special events and activities. Those volunteering for
Thursdays would be responsible for filling
the packets for distribution. Those volunteering for Friday would be
responsible for emptying packets for any
communications sent back by parents.
Field Day
Joe
Rahtelli, Chair
This event usually
takes place in June. Two people are needed to assist the gym teacher
with activities for
the day. This also
includes helping set up the teams and providing lunch.
Grandparents/
Special Persons Day
May 6, 2005
This is a day where
grandparents/special persons are invited to mass and to a reception to
celebrate their
part in our
students lives. Volunteers are needed to
send invitations, organize the reception and to help
make this a special
day for these wonderful people.
Hospitality Committee
This is another of the
many important committees that we have here at St. Rose School. This
committee
helps the
Principal and the H&SA with organizing refreshments
and serving as “greeters” at various events
throughout the year. They have been instrumental in the planning
and organizing of New Family Night,
H&SA General
Meetings,Catholic Schools Week, Sports Banquets, etc....
They are usually
behind the scenes but their mark is left on every
St. Rose School event.
Social Committee
This committee will be
responsible for organizing “fun” activities for our families. These are
social events
that are not
intended to raise funds as part of the Home and School Annual
Budget. These may include,
but are not limited
to,parent gatherings, family dances, bowling,
and trips. Events can be planned to take
place on or off school
premises. (Sept. 18, 2004 - Sock Hop Dance, first event)
Sports Program
Jim Kenning, Athletic Director
St. Rose School is a
member of the parochial school basketball league including Danbury,
Brookfield,
Bethel and
Newtown areas. We field both boys and girls basketball teams as
well as girls cheerleading.
Basketball season
begins in October and includes tournaments.
Even if your child is not on a team, our
support is needed to
cheer on our athletes! Volunteers include:
an Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic
Director, Timekeepers,
Scorekeepers and Hall Monitors. A sports
banquet is given at the end of the season
to honor the St. Rose
athletes. Parent volunteers are needed to
help organize this fun evening.
Sunshine Committee
From time to time,
members or our St. Rose families may experience a major life event (i.e.
new baby,
move, illness). At
these times, we would like to come together to provide some assistance
to these
families by providing
meals, cards, flowers, etc. Volunteers of the
Sunshine Committee would be called
upon to help
coordinate these activities.
Teacher Appreciation Days
These are “secret”
days that recognize our teaching staff for all the wonderful things that
they do for our
children. This effort
includes: organizing the classes for a very small token of recognition
of their teacher
on these special days.
Uniform Exchange
Ginny Ryan, Chair
This committee
organizes and maintains the inventory of used school uniforms throughout
the school year.
Help is needed
especially at Home and School general meeting times so the inventory can
be available
for presentation to a large number of families.
Walk-a-thon
October 17th, 2004
Leslie Quinn, Chair
This event in October
brings the school community together for our major fund-raiser.
Volunteers are needed
to
assist with the food for the day as well as organize the
collection of donations.
Work Parties
Gary Daniels, Chair
Work Parties are held
periodically in order to spruce up St. Rose School. Some of the
