This week marks the first full week of Lent; a holy time for us to be
kinder, more generous to others and to be more frequently with the Lord
in prayer. This year the Second Grade Mission wagon will feature
“Spots”, a giant Dalmatian that will be raffled off. The proceeds from
this project with support the Haitian Mission of the Sisters of
Charity. Raffles will be sold in the Preschool at $.25 a chance and 5
for $1.00. Please write your child’s name and class on the green paper
and slip in into the basket provided on the bench in the Preschool.
Thank you for supporting this worthwhile cause and may God bless each of
you and your beautiful families.
The 3’s are discussing the importance of prayer and
are praying for special people in their lives. They continue to have
fun with Nursery Rhymes and make egg carton spiders to go along with
“Little Miss Muffet”.
The 4’s continue to learn about the meaning of
Lent. They are preparing their hearts for the beautiful feast of
Easter.
March has definitely entered like a lion! The 5’s
have been very busy graphing the days using lions and lambs. This week
they will explore all the different types of weather and will write
about the weather on puffy clouds. The Religion lesson will be the
story of Noah’s Ark and the children will make their own story wheels.
Please remember in your prayers the Antous Family
who are mourning the loss of Fred Antous. May he rest in God’s eternal
peace.
