Text- American Journey

Grade 8 will cover the following units in the school year

1)Review- Changing Nation, Big Business, Progressive Era

2)Review- Power- Expansion, World War 1

3)The Political Scene, How government works, The Elections

3) Life in the Twenties, Depression & New Deal, WW11

4) Change- Postwar World - Cold War

5) Vietnam to Current Day


-Students will use historical thinking skills to develop an understanding
of the major historical periods in United States history.

-Students will recognize the continuing importance of historical
thinking and historical knowledge in their own lives and in the
world in which they live.

-Students will apply knowledge of the US Constitution and how the US
system of government works.

All is subject to change.

Every Friday is current event day.

There will be Chapter quizzes, tests and projects assigned on a weekly basis.
