Text-American Journey

Areas that will be covered;

Geography of the US and the World

Grade 7 will cover the following units in the first half of the year

1) Opportunity- New World and the English Settlement

2) Independence- Colonials, War of Independence, Constitution

3) Democracy- New goverment, Nationalism, Age of Jackson

4) Expansion- Rise of Industry, Westward movement

5) The writing of Bills to become Laws

-Students will develop historical thinking, including chronological thinking
and recognizing change over time; comprehending and analyzing
historical literature.

-Students will use historical thinking skills to develop an understanding
of the major periods, issues and trends in US history.

-Current events are discussed on a regular basis.

These are subject to change.

There will be workbook quizzes and tests.
There will also be projects through out the year.

Quizzes will be given as a review to a test.
